“A Call to Action”

God is the Breath of Life.

God breathed life into ALL flesh.  The Spirit is our Breath.  Racism is a scourge on humanity.  It is evil manifested.  It is diabolical. 

Let us look honestly at ourselves and organizations, asking God to show us our racist thoughts and actions.  Let us pray, “Lord, have mercy on me.  Lord, have mercy on us.”

Justice depends on you, on me, on all of us.  Will we allow the living God in our next breath to make a difference through us? 

Let us speak up and speak out, today and every day.  Let us make our voices heard in all the groups of which we are a part.  The world needs all of our voices.

Let us act on behalf of each whose breath has been unjustly stopped by racism.  Let us act on behalf of each whose breath will be stopped, if we don’t act.  Let us be committed to long standing change.

Let us protest peacefully -- in person, sign petitions, communicate with our local community and elected officials…VOTE!

Let us build relationships with people whose experiences in the world have been different from ours.  Let us ask questions, listen to each other’s stories and believe in one another.

Let us practice intentional acts of kindness and understanding. 

Let us conquer evil with love, deep enduring love, for one another.
